Poetics of Encounter
Poetics of Encounter marks the opening of Casa Axis through a simple yet powerful gesture: sharing the trajectory, interests, and artistic research of Leliene Rodrigues. Rather than presenting a closed body of work, the exhibition unfolds as a field of connections, where the aesthetic experience is established as a practice of en-counter—with others, with oneself, and with that which is not immediately visible, yet remains an integral part of our existence.
Guided by curiosity about the world, her roots in Minas Gerais, and a genuine interest in relating to others, Leliene creates works that invite each person to perceive and explore alterity—what is different from oneself. Her propositions awaken a continuous flow of sensations, in which each experience emerges through relationships: open, unstable, and always unique.
By placing herself in the position of the other with attention and respect, the artist creates situations in which the most important aspect is not representation, but the activation of presence. As she herself states, “reality is given by the very polarity of the gaze,” suggesting that every perception depends on who is looking and on how one engages with and experiences the world.
In this sense, the exhibition also inaugurates Casa Axis as a space for the integration of art, science, and practical spirituality. More than an exhibition venue, the House presents itself as a field where encounter becomes a sensitive, ethical, and transformative practice—a space that invites listening, openness, and experience.
